Assigning Different Pre-Recorded Sound To Midi Keyboard

Hello,

I have a few pre-recorded sounds to play on live orchestra. I am trying to find to play them with Midi Keyboard. It is like, when I press A it will give Record 1, C record 3.... Is it possible to do it with Garage Band.

Thanks,

GarageBand (Mac) '11, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

You can do this in GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5. but not in the newer GarageBand 10.

To play recorded samples, use the sound effect instrument and drag the samples directly onto the keys of the Musical Typing Keyboard. You open the Musical Typing keyboard with the key combination ⇧⌘K.

Each key can play a different sample.
