iMac (4k/21.5/2017) turns on to black screen no chime

This problem started around the last Mojave update.

When the problem started initially, the Apple logo was on the screen with the progress stuck 3 quarters of the way. It was stuck like that for almost a day.

I have tried resetting PRAM / SMC and tried to boot to safe mode / single line mode / verbose mode and none of those have worked. I even tried target disk mode to see if I could get something different.

After doing all of that it was able to boot 2 separate times to a login screen, then as soon as it was shut off or rebooted, the computer was back to just a black screen after it's turned on.

Any input would be greatly appreciated...the warranty was up last month.

I have tried 1 through 4. Technically tried 5 and 6 but nothing happens when holding Command R or shift to boot into safe mode using a USB keyboard.

The one time I did get it to actually boot, I ran first aid in disk utility and it said everything was ok....but as soon as it was rebooted the problem started right back up.
