Auto-Hide Menu Bar broken on macOS Mojave

Auto-Hide Menu Bar broken on macOS Mojave

I like a full screen always so I auto hide the menu bar and the dock. The dock will always show when moving the cursor to the bottom. However, the menu bar is sporadic. It will show sometimes and not others. In order to get it to show, I must switch windows or applications.

This is a horrible user experience and I am very surprised this simple bug exists, has existed, and has not been fixed since macOS Sierra, nearly two and a half years.

MacBook Pro, macOS Mojave (10.14.1)

While I do not usually have the menu bar hidden, I hid it just for testing and I cannot reproduce your problem: moving the mouse pointer up and down a number of times it is always responsive showing and hiding the menu bar as expected.

Since you appear to have several different problems, I'm thinking that they may be specific to your installation. I recommend you run Etrecheck and post its report here so we can look for possible causes of problems.
