aptx

I want to activate aptx codec on my 2015 MacBook Pro (serial C0****VH4 , Retina 13') with Sierra 10.12.6

I used the line sudo defaults write bluetoothaudiod "Enable AptX codec" -bool true

on Terminal.

When I write

sudo defaults read bluetoothaudiod

it says

"Enable AptX codec" = 1

But, I have a transmitter that allows aptx, and in the contextual bluetooth menu, it says "active codec : inactive"

Cannot get macbook pro to stick with AptX codec on Bluetooth. I have wireless speakers that support AptX (KEF LS50W) and it keeps defaulting to SBC codec. So I used the Bluetooth utility to force use of AptX as described here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7544692 However, when the session ends and I start a new one, it keeps going back to SBC, even though the force AptX checkbox is checked. How does macos decide which codec to use and why is it ignoring the force aptX setting on new sessions?

Bluetooth Audio Codec Missing Hi I have a Macbook Air (10.13.6) and I'm trying to pair it with a Bose Micro Soundlink but once paired, the active codec status is showing as 'Not Active'. As of 2 days back my speakers were connecting perfectly with my laptop and now there's suddenly a bluetooth audio cut. These speakers work fine with my iphone and other Windows Laptop. Even the Bluetooth Explorer log is showing an error. I have tried resetting my speakers and restarting the laptop. Please help, if any of you know how to activate the SBC codec again. Thanks
