iPad or MacBook for school

Hi, I am a student wondering whether an iPad or MacBook is better for me for taking notes in class and stuff. Also I am a creative student who occasionally writes stories and draws and reads. Which is the best device for me?

New IPad - Ipad or Ipad Air Debating between basic IPad and IPad Air. Not sure if there is a huge difference in functionality. Use for taking notes at meetings, reading from Kindle and web serving/browsing. Any thoughts from the group?

Everyone will have differing opinions on this. I use both. For pure browsing and reading, the iPad is fine.

But when I take notes or write it is the MacBook hands down.
