TimeMachineEditor Deleted/Still Stopping mac Time Machine Backups!

Downloaded (highly rate?!) TimeMachineEditor.app on my iMac in order to perform a 1x daily backup (instead of hourly, which can't be changed) with MacOS High Sierra.

Did it to salvage an old backup drive which eventually ended up unsalvagable, so I bought a bigger new backup drive and deleted the app as space is no longer an issue... NIGHTMARE!! I have deleted the TimeMachineEditor.app (using uninstaller on "CleanMyMac 3"), emptied the trash, restarted (several times) and STILL I get this time machine error:

"The default one-hour scheduler of Time Machine has been disabled since you are using TimeMachineEditor instead. You can disable TimeMachineEditor from its application if you do not wish to use it anymore..."

Only thing I haven't done is remove its preferences is the following recommendation as I cannot find the hidden TImeMachineEditor files!?

I'm tempted to throw all of these folders out as I think they probably, replace themselves and might solve the problem. HELP!? Anyone have the same problem or have a fix??

Search for the items with the name of TimeMachineEditor 4.2.1 in the following locations:

  • /Library
  • /Library/Caches
  • /Library/Preferences
  • /Library/Application Support
  • /Library/LaunchAgents
  • /Library/LaunchDaemons
  • /Library/PreferencePanes
  • /Library/StartupItems

Sorry I missed CleanMyMac, that has been a big problem for too many people.

however, from what I gather, my "CleanMyMac3" app is deleting all that for me and should have uninstalled this.

I would't count on it. I'd uninstall CreamMyMac3, it obviously didn't uninstall something.

I think you might have to Install TimeMachineEditor again, then use it's uninstaller.

Thanks for your time, BDAqua,

Problem is I have already uninstalled the app (noted in the original post).

Even though I used an uninstaller, restarted several times, etc., the following is happening:

1). Getting an error message (see this morning's, above).

2). This UNINSTALLED software is disabling my time Mac OS Time Machine Backups every time I go into the preferences and tick "Back Up Automatically" I get above error and the box gets unticked. Can't solve it.

While the attached list of contents in the install pkg. you provided is helpful, it doesn't help me locate the (hidden) TimeMachineEditor.app preferences I need to locate and trash.... however, from what I gather, my "CleanMyMac3" app is deleting all that for me and should have uninstalled this.

The PROBLEM: my iMac won't back up because somewhere there's a remnant of "TimeMachineEditor.app" hidden on my High Sierra OS, that I can find/delete.

Any more suggestions? Having trouble finding contact info for the developer...

Appreciate your help,

P.
