apple watch enlarging image

Cannot enlarge image on apple watch when sent as text. If I go to photos I can enlarge but turning the crown but when it is in the text message turning the crown does nothing. Tried to ask Siri to enlarge but no luck. Also is there a way to save a text message as image so it can be viewed and enlarged.
