Boot Camp, not enough space on disk.

I am attempting to run Boot Camp to install on my MB Pro.

User uploaded file

Boot Camp goes all the way through the partition phase then fails with this message:

I set the partition size at 150 GB on my 500 GB internal SSD drive. I checked the .iso file size and it is only 31 GB.

I have tried 5 times now and have run the Disk Utility repair cycle on the SSD drive each time with no errors reported.

Help!!

You are using Windows Media Creation tool to get the ISO contents from Microsoft. Converting this USB to an ISO is not correct. This USB is already a bootable USB, but it is missing BC Drivers.

The correct method should be

  • Download the ISO from Microsoft's Software Download page. Move it to a folder other than Downloads, before you use it further.
  • Run BC Assistant, and point to this ISO, when prompted.
  • Insert a USB2 Flash drive, which be erased/formatted by BCA.
  • BCA will create a bootable USB, with ISO and BC driver content.
  • If you enable the Install option in BCA, after the USB is successfully created, your Mac should reboot and bring up the Windows installer
  • If you see any errors messages, please post back.

You didn't solve anything, it keeps showing the "not enough space available on the disk" message.

This worked. Thank you!
