Criteo's Safari exploit

It appears that Safari can be exploited by criteo if you accept cookies from any website that criteo has as a client. If I have this right it means it is risky to accept cookies from any site. Anyone else seeing this?

thx

sorry I should have been clearer. The impact is pop up ads. Criteo is a personalized retargeting company that works with Internet retailers to serve personalized online display advertisements to consumers who have previously visited the advertiser's website. in other words, if you did not buy the first time you will get hit by an ad.

See if this helps.

Safari – Popup takes over

Popup remover – Scam Zapper

If the pop-up reloads, force quit Safari (command - option/alt - esc) and reopen with the shift key held down. If that doesn't work, disconnect from the Internet, go to Safari/History and delete the website. Quit and reopen with the shift key held down. Then reconnect to the Internet.

Another option.

Quit Safari.

In Finder go to Go menu and then Go to Folder.

Copy and paste this ~/Library/Safari/Databases.

Delete the contents of the folder.

Launch Safari again and check if all is ok.

If that doesn’t work, copy and paste this ~/Library/Safari/LocalStorage.

Delete the contents of the folder.

Then go to Safari/History and delete any entries for the related websites.

Test.
