Voice Memo fails to save

Having used Voice Memo with earlier software, I found it to be a great tool. Once updated to 12.1 it no longer works the same way IF the memo is more than an hour or so. After pushing the button that should stop recording, the button reads Pause. Pushing it again causes the current recording to be deleted and a new memo started.

Likewise, if you receive an interrupting telephone call, which you do not take, during a recording, the recording stops and is lost.
