Greetings Pixel860,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! I understand you're unable to use keyboard shortcuts for copying and pasting as expected.

I suggest to check for conflicting keyboard shortcuts, as described in the following guide: If a keyboard shortcut doesn’t work on Mac

If the issue remains, testing the behavior while using a different user account and while your Mac is in safe mode can help to isolate the behavior. You can see those steps from the following guides: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac & Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

Let me know how it goes from here.

Kind regards.

Test:

- in a new user account

- in your account, while booted in Safe Mode

What happens?

Also, do you have any program that may intercept user input - e.g. Keyboard Maestro, Alfred, ...?

Try removing your login items;

Finally, run the diagnostic tool Etrecheck and post its report here.

We know nothing about your mac, which model, what software it is running...

These problems are always caused by a software conflict.

Command V works on guest account account but not mine. I can't find the problem software.

Only menu paste option works. Attached report.http://mudmangr@yahoo.com

Some of the programs that you are running in your account are probably causing this. To confirm, start in Safe Mode and see if command-C and command-V work (they almost certainly do).

You have a lot of old stuff. You still have "startup items", which do not work since Yosemite (10.10).

Etrecheck flagged possible adware - you should run it again and use the provided buttons to uninstall.

You have a "cleaner" - never install any programs that claim to clean, or optimize, your mac.

You have

Both Tuxera and Paragon versions are too old and incompatible with Mojave (plus, you should not have two different pieces of software that modify the system with the same purpose run at the same time!).

And you do not need to have MalwareBytes running all the time.
