How do I minimize FaceTime on ipad

I would like to know how to minimize the FaceTime screen so that I can multitask while on a facetime call. I tried searching google but the results that popped up were from older versions of iOS that had a PiP button option. That button is no longer present (Or I don’t know how to access it. Please help!

On iPads with a home button, just tap the home button to minimize Facetime during an active call, and it should reduce the video to a pip on the side. On a 2018 iPad Pro, pinch the screen to minimize the app.

You can then open any app, and the Picture in Picture will remain there.

To use multitasking, you need both an iPad and Apps that can support it. There are many permutations to achieve this, but this is one - and it assumes that FaceTime appears in the recent Apps within your task bar.

- Open another App (this will start full screen).

- While this main App is running, summon the task bar (swipe-up from the bottom of the screen)

- Drag Facetime from the task bar to the main screen - FaceTime will be a slide-out App on the right-hand side of your screen.

Now, review the multitasking section of the iPad User Guide for iOS - and experiment!

Thanks for the prompt reply. I am not looking for a side by side option for facetime. I am needing a Picture in Picture option where the facetime screen is minimize3d onto the Fukl screen app i’m Working on (in this case, Safari). How do I MINIMIZE the Facetime screen into PiP size (minimized) so that I can continue working in safari while conversing on Facetime?

Thanks
