Volume Button not taking pictures and videos in snapchat.

Hi! So randomly one day my volume buttons suddenly stopped taking pictures/videos when I’m using snapchat. It just brings up the volume bar.

Also this only happens when I add a filter if it’s plain the picture and video are being shot fine swipe left or right and a filter sets in and there we go the volume buttons appear.

Read the trouble shooting posts posts before and so far have restarted phone. Deleted and reinstalled snapchat.

Cleared cache etc.

Did the latest ios 12 update in software settings

it’s almost as if the filters disable the side Button Function.

Volumes working one too. Sometimes randomly mid frantic button press itl start to work.

I use the side buttons to snap all the time. Please help and don’t just tell me to reset to factory settings. Please.

is there any other place we can enable the volume buttons for camera use on snap ?

please help.

Hi there! Not sure if you resolved this yet but I was having exact same issue on my iPhone 8+ and this is what worked for me:

Settings —> Sounds & Haptics —> Enable Change with buttons

I have tried everything too and am getting sick of the issues. Nothing works. My phone is only a year old. I will not be buying anymore apple products. Its one thing after another. I feel like they are always causing issues witth their updates to force people in to upgrading. Samsung all the way now!

I’m having the exact same issue. Been dealing with it since October. Reset my phone every way possible, went to the apple store, nothing has worked. Have my own case with a apple manager and nothing has been done yet. Getting really frustrated.

I has a iPhone 6s and the same thing happened to me. It started happening around November 2018. Yesterday February 25th I just bought a new iPhone XS and its still happening I can’t take a photo in Snapchat if there’s a filter with the Volume button. I’m so upset. I’ve done everything even buying a new phone.

I am having the same problem on iphone x. I wish apple would stop causing problems with updates and trying to force people in to buying new phones! My next phone will not be apple :(
