How can I find out who or what device is submitting an incorrect password?

I had my Apple ID locked, I assume it was too many password violations. How can I find out why the account was locked and if it was indeed too many failed login attempts how can find out the device used?

You probably won't be able to find the device, but you can try asking Apple ID Support why it was locked.
