Disabling iCloud Photos

If I chose "Download and Keep Originals," would the photos downloaded into my new iPhone from iCloud Photos also be deleted once I "Disable and Delete" iCloud Photos? I used iCloud Photos as a means to transfer photos from my old to new iPhone, and now that that is done I no longer wish to continue using it.

I've read from somewhere that once I click "Disable and Delete" this would appear:

User uploaded file

However, I didn't get this prompt, but instead I got this:

User uploaded file

If my understanding is correct, the photos on both my old and new iPhones should remain and not be deleted, right? Thanks 🙂

You should consider making a copy of your photos from iCloud first

If you choose to download and save the originals, the photos and videos would be saved to the local storage of your devices which you select that option. They would then be deleted from your iCloud account and other devices which didn’t download the originals. The photos would be safe on your device.
