Using my 27 (late 2012) Imac as a Monitor for New Mac Mini

Hi All,

Thanks for taking a moment to read and reply to my question.

I want to use my 27" Late 2012 (3.4ghz Core I7, OS X 10.8.5) Imac as a monitor (and hopefully speaker, too) for a new mac mini.

A: Are both these goals reasonably possible? (I am led to believe they are in Target Display Mode).

B: Which cable will I need to properly connect the Mac Mini to my old Imac for sound and image?
