Pioneer BDL-XS05 will not mount with14.1

This DVD player/writer will not produce a mounted disk image on the desktop with OS 14.1. on a 2018 iMac It did work with High Sierra, which is installed on another Apple computer. Anyone experiencing the same thing? DVD firmware was updated to latest as of November 13, 2018.

Pioneer bluray drive not working with Mojave Mojave appears to have broken support for the Pioneer BDR-XD05S, a popular bluray drive. Specifically, I am seeing the following behavior.I insert media burned prior to the Mojave upgrade into the Pioneer drive. The media mounts as normal. I then right click on the media icon and choose the option to erase the disk. The erase completes without any error messages. However the erased media does not mount and show as an empty but formatted bluray as it used to under High Sierra and earlier releases. If you run Disk Utility you can see the media, but it is listed as uninitialized and the options to initialize it or run First Aid are disabled. Thus the media is unusable. I have seen this problem both with DVD-RW media and with Bluray BD-RE DL media.I have reported this problem to both Apple and Pioneer, but there is no resolution as of now.

Pioneer BDR-XD05S bluray drive and High Sierra 10.13.6 Hi I have just bought the Pioneer BDR-XD05S bluray drive and I can't get it to work on my iMac. It runs High Sierra 10.13.6 but the drive does not show up in Finder and nor i DVD player app. Any suggestions what to do?

There's a known bug in Mojave. It doesn't display blank disks. If you need to burn a disk, create a folder, place the files inside, then right/control click the folder and choose "Burn…" from the contextual menu.

Works for me as well--thanks for your help. Maybe in the next update Apple will fix that bug.
