Retinal display assembly vs. LCD replacement

There are these opaque markings in the screen of my Retina display MacBook Pro (Mid 2014). They are not scratches and appear to be within the glass. I'm not sure what they are or how they got there but I'd like to replace the component to remedy the issue. So my question is which component do I need to replace, the LCD or the entire Retina display assembly? I would appreciate any feed back. thank you, AlexUser uploaded file

If you have access to an Apple-owned store, you can make an appointment for a FREE diagnostic and hands-on inspection from folks who put their hands on these computers all day every day.

Once you hear what they have to say, it may direct the way you proceed.

One big problem for self-repairers today is that Apple has reduced the number and increased the complexity of their field-replaceable units, and the individual parts you want may not be available as new. Today, they tend to swap the display-assembly-with-aluminum-cover as one unit, and do no small individual parts (like screen cover-glass) replacement.

That does not stop the used market from producing the used parts you need, but it makes everything more complicated.
