Ring tone question

I was wondering if you can use iTunes to create ringtones? I pay a monthly subscribtion to use iTunes so I assumed you can use that music to make a ringtone. Or do you have to purchase them seperatly through the tone store on iTunes? Thanks

The music from the Apple Music subscription can only be used for listening. Not to be edited or inserted in other projects.

The music from the iTunes Store, an audio CD or other non-DRM source can be edited to ringtone specification, if you search how to.

The ready-to-go ringtones in the iTunes Store are obviously the official recommendation.
