Good afternoon Mhight52,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand you want to delete a large number of email messages at once from your @icloud.com email account. Whenever I need to do some "spring cleaning" like this, I go online to www.icloud.com from a computer, log in with my Apple ID and password, and click on the Mail app. Hold down the Command key to select multiple messages, and then click the Trash can icon to delete them. This will delete the email on all of my devices that are signed in with the same Apple ID. These messages will be moved to a Recently Deleted folder, which can be emptied if you don't need the grace period.
An even faster method if you have a Mac is to open the Mail app, sort the messages by "From" and then you can see all of the messages grouped together. That way, if you received a large number of messages (ie. marketing or newsletters, etc.) from a particular company or person, you can click on the first message from that sender, hold down the Shift key, and select the last message from that sender, so all of the messages in that range will be selected. Then click the Delete icon to delete all of the selected messages at once. Right-Click or Control-Click on the Trash can in the sidebar in Mail and choose "Erase Deleted Items" to permanently delete these messages. Remember to change the sorting back to "Sort by Date" when you are finished cleaning up your email.
If you are doing this on your iPhone, you would select the iCloud Inbox, tap Edit in the upper-right corner, tap to select each message so a blue circle with a white checkmark appears to the left of each, and then tap "Trash" in the lower-right corner of your display. Then you can select the Trash box, tap Edit in the upper-right corner of the iPhone display, and then tap "Delete All" in the lower-right corner of the display.
Here are a few resources to help you with this:
iCloud: Delete emails in iCloud Mail
iCloud: Reduce email storage space in iCloud
Delete emails in Mail on Mac
Take care.
