Error Moving Calendars to Server Account

Also 'CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation'

I had this problem and see no other postings of how to fix it, so I wanted to SHARE THE FIX for your benefit.

We had the problem where the calendar on the Mac was in a frozen loop which prevented any input into the calendar application. The error message was 'Error Moving Calendars to Server Account'. Clicking the error triangle '!' the following message, Error CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.

Viewing the iCloud.com Calendar it also showed duplicate calendars from shared subscriptions which needed to be deleted. When trying to delete them at this point they would simply reappear after a few seconds or minutes.

To fix this you will need to go into your iCloud.com account.

1. I recommend backing up your important calendars (though I did not need to Restore these following this fix).

Here is the link on how to Back-up/save your iCloud.com calendars. https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT204055#calendars

Download a calendar from iCloud.com

  1. Sign in to iCloud.com with your Apple ID and open Calendar.
  2. Publicly share the calendar.
  3. Copy the URL of the shared calendar and paste it into the address field in your browser. Don't click Enter or Return.
  4. Change "webcal" to "http" and click Enter or Return. An ICS file downloads to your default download location.
  5. Add the calendar to a calendar client, such as Calendar on Mac or Outlook on a Windows computer.
  6. Stop sharing the calendar.

iCloud Calendar keeps information from the last six months, and up to three years in the future.

2. Then go into your Apple Mac Library file and delete the cache files as per:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7658947

Go to the Finder menu...and select Go whilst pressing down the Option key this will give you an additional option on the submenu called Library.

Select Library which will open another folder

Within the Library folder select calendar cache typically you'll find 3 files made today titled:

Calendar Cache

Calendar Cache-shm

Calendar Cache-wal

Select and drag these 3 files to the Trash

Close the Calendar App if it is open, using the force quit process

Restart your computer.

3. The next stage is to remove duplicate calendars from the iCloud.com account (of course you haven't bothered backing these up, as you are about to Delete them!)

Here is the link on how to delete duplicate calendars:

https://support.apple.com/kb/PH2679?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US

When you delete a calendar from your Calendars list in Calendar on iCloud.com, all events associated with the calendar are also deleted.

You can’t delete all of the calendars in the list because it must always contain at least one calendar.

WARNING: When you delete a calendar, it’s deleted from every device that has iCloud Calendar turned on.

  1. Click Edit at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. Click the Remove button '–' to the right of the calendar’s name, then click Delete.
  3. Click Done.

Wait a few seconds to ensure that duplicate calendars do not reappear.

Re-open your Calendar application on the Mac.

Hopefully the fault is cleared and your duplicate calendars have disappeared!

You might need to 'Refresh Calendars' under the View menu, or Close and relaunch of the calendar application.
