Hi, I want to edit an album which is various artists to one actual artist if there is only one or two tracks downloaded for easier reference. Used to be able to edit but facility seems to have been withdrawn? Regards Steve

music app (not to be confused with apple music) this is an example of the issue I have everytime i add an album to the music app. lets say i download an album from bandcamp. when i add the album to the music app., i tend to clean up the metadata. meaning i cspitalize what needs to be capitalized and if it's a compilation, i'll check compilation within the "get info" menu. what's driving me nuts is once I'm finished formatting the album info to my liking, somehow the album is split up between multiple tracks of the same album all with the album art. I've gone through the "sort as" but even when I have all the sorting formatted the same, there is always one track that will not conform. If I somehow manage to get that last track to live amounst the other, another track with remove itself from the list. I know, weird. IF someone out there has an idea of how to correct this, I'm all ears. To be upfront, I tried everything there is to try to include deleting and adding the album again.

Track names being listed as Album name for purchased iTunes music I have found when purchasing certain box sets on iTunes the tracks are labelled as the album title without the track names. They show up fine with track names on the iPhone but on a windows computer just the album name for each track. David Bowie "A new career in town" Every track shows as "Low" Then the next album title etc for the whole box set. Annoying? Yes. I found the solution: Right click on the album artwork picture. You will see a list of options Click on "Get info" (for all the tracks at once) "Edit Items" Then you will see a box at the top that will say "Use Work And Movement" Uncheck that box and you will get your individual track names. Make sure you select the whole album at once to be edited. It will take forever to do each track individually. I hope this helps.

How can i play music by just one artist? Since Apple removed the artist by album function (i.e playing all songs by one artist whether it be their own studio albums or from a compilation..), I decided to recreate this function by putting all the artists names into the “composer” section. Everything was working great until the last update. Now if I pick an artist (let’s use Kylie Minogue as an example), when I go into her section, all her studio albums are listed fine, but everything within a compilation (Now 100 for example) lists ALL the songs from that specific album, meaning that if I want to play just Kylie and hit shuffle, all the songs from that compilation album (and any other compilation album she happens to appear on) will get mixed in as well). This is so disappointing as it should be a basic function and once existed perfectly well. This is on my 2020 iPhone SE. Have no idea about any other device. Help please
