I have tried so many times, but my movie freezes at the exact sme spot everytime. How do I fix this?

Is it during the video or the audio rendering that the movie freezes? Depending on the length of the DVD, the audio rendering will "freeze" at the end for a while (sometimes a couple of hours). This is normal and there really isn't a way of fixing it but just be patient with iDVD 🙂
I am also experiencing the same problem. When attempting to burn a disk image iDVD hangs when it comes to encode the audio. I have left it hang for up to 8 hours. The little ball keeps spinning and I have had to force quit iDVD.
The project is HD video from iMovie6 and 50 minutes long.
Surely this can't be normal can it?

iDVD appears to be unresponsive when encoding Audio

It can take a very long time to burn a DVD. It really depends on the video and your set-up.
Turn off all other applications, set the Mac to "Never Sleep" and leave it alone-I usually burn overnight.

This question is in our Top Ten!
It is probably not 'hanging'. Disregard any messages that iDVD is not responding. It is. Do not force quit.
Encoding audio is the slowest part of rendering, and can take many hours. Great patience, even an intermittent alternative hobby, is called for.
Make sure no other application is running, make sure you have not set the hard disk to go to sleep and that the screen saver will not come on. Leave it overnight, or have a 36 hole game of golf.
Sooner or later iDVD will finish!

OK,OK so it's taking a long time! I've done this before with iDVD 5 and iMovie HD 5 and with the plain old iDVD and iMovie and it NEVER TOOK THIS LONG. NOT EVEN CLOSE WITH EVEN LONGER MOVIES. What's wrong with the new, improved versions? HOW DO I UNINSTALL THEM??

You were spot on! Thanks heaps, didn't quite get the 36 holes in but everything burnt OK when left overnight to do it's thing.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
Glad it worked for you, Smas! 🙂
I went through this forum on Saturday for the same reason. I ended up force quitting a couple of times after 2-3 hours as the burning seemed to "freeze" at around 66 minutes remaining. Considered doing the retrograde to QT 6.5.2 and all mentioned in other threads but thought I'd give it one more shot. Movie was ~30 mins but full of video and audio. On Sunday I let it go. It took 8 hours to burn successfully. Then we made another 4 copies that took less than 10 minutes each. All in All...it just takes a long time.
I am getting something similar with iDVD 3, and have let it go as long as it wants - but the dvd ejects after a couple of hours telling me I have error #8??
This is always at the asset encoding stage.
Any ideas?
