way to transfer iPhone mail settings to Mac?

My iPhone X (iOS12.1) has several mail accounts setup, including my mac mail account, and they are all working fine. However the mail on my MacBook Pro, running 10.14.1, is working terribly lately. Can't seem to get the settings right, no matter how many times I reenter them, use connection Dr, etc.

Is there a way to transfer the iPhone settings to my mac, since they are working just fine?

Thanks

You could try comparing the settings on your iPhone to that on your Mac, go to Settings/Passwords & Accounts and tap on each of your mail accounts (other than iCloud), you should then see your Outgoing and Incoming Mail Server sections.

If you compare what you see with what’s under macOS Mail Preferences on the Server Settings tab, you may find a difference which if changed might fix your issue.

By doing the above you can cross reference things like SSL, Authentication, Port Numbers and Password for Outgoing (SMTP) and Incoming Servers (note the latter has some info hidden under the “Advanced” section on iOS).

Glad you sorted. It may seem a little over the top but I’ve taken a few screen shots of the various Mail Settings in both macOS and iOS which I keep for future reference, if something goes amiss I just go back to them and try a see what’s been changed.
