My storage says 17GB of "photo's" & 70GB of "other"; I have removed every photo and all documents/files & emptied the trash. I THINK I have cleared all caches and scratch disks but still no change. Please help? What exactly is "other"?

My storage says 17GB of "photo's" & 70GB of "other"; I have removed every photo and all documents/files & emptied the trash. I THINK I have cleared all caches and scratch disks but still no change. Please help? What exactly is "other"?
