how do i find the library in Apple Books?

Question

how do i find the library in Apple Books?

When I open Books it opens the last thing I was looking at/reading, but I am unable to go back to the library to chose something else to look at/read. What is going on?

iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 12.1

If you tap towards the centre of the screen do you not get the icons along the top of the screen ?

What happens when you tap towards the middle of the screen ? Does anything show ?

No unfortunately. I’ve tried a single tap, a double tap, a swipe, a drag, and cursing at it but its not working. I’m getting very frustrated
