Time Machine Not Backing Everything Up

I've never used time machine before until recently. When I hooked up my external hard drive that I'm using for my time machine I had search the files to see if I can find some stuff that are in my user -> library section and I noticed some stuff and other stuff aren't backing up. When I first backed it up, it was close to the file size used on my MacBook pro but the gb size on my time machine was smaller. I only have one thing in my excluded area for backup (which was there already but it has nothing in the folder since I checked the folder itself) and doesn't contain stuff I'm missing. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS Sierra (10.12.4), 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7,16 GB 1600MHz

You user Library is normally hidden unless you have made it visible in your user folder. If you haven't made it visible in your user folder, it will not show in the Time Machine application. You need to use the search function locate the files.
