Apple VPN

I'm tired of gmail cluttering my mail with boxes I don't want or can delete. Each morning I turn my Mac on, Google has recovered or achieved more boxes with mail I can find the origin. How do I stop this madness?

Does Apple have a VPN service ? Pay or free ?

I'm not sure what you meant by "If I purchase an encrypted email..." The following should help. If you have an Apple ID then you have iCloud Mail. Use the Mail app on the computer and set up a mail account if one has not already been set up for you.

Perfect, I mean PERFECT. 2 beers, User uploaded fileI'd kick cash if I new how... User uploaded file

Your advice has answered all my questions, a thousand Thank You's Kappy !!!

My predicament is from my own stupidity. I thought I could rearrange my Mac file system in a tree hierarchy like a PC that made sense to "me" because of my years of Windows use.

I didn't differentiate AFS to Windows Tree.

Apple said I did irreversible, unrecoverable, catastrophic damage to my device OS's.

My stubbornness to accept Apple's conclusion, I only made things even worse.

My only course of action is to start over from scratch.

I've only purchased a few song over the 20 years and that's about it.

I understand the 2 Apple ID's won't be associated, that's exactly what I want.

Trying to un-muck 20 years of improper Apple/iTunes account use is just to convoluted, that's what Apple said.

I agree !

Could you point or reference a way to "Export" application data for all app's on my Mac ?

or is manual "Export" of each app's data the only way to keep that data w/o retaining any settings ?

Over 600 bookmarks, 3,986 contacts, a couple hundred keys, Calendar, Notes & so on.

Can I or should I change the "subject" of this thread to something more fitting to this conversation ?

If possible, would you have a phrase I should use ?

I'd love to write a raving review if I could.

I've had such super informative and direction from Apple support because I couldn't find the answers I needed here.

Although the were as professional as you, I felt I was asking questions that were outside Apple Support realm.

I'm 110% satisfied with this chat.

Thank You

Sincerely,

RapyD

Thankx Kap. do you mind if I ask a little more.

If I purchase an encrypted email and created a new Apple ID with that encrypted address;

Will that allow me to set up and obtain an iCloud email to eliminate gmail out for good?

If yes, will resetting devices to factory and building back up soley using the iCloud email address work?

I do care about internet data mining but moving forward, being sole Apple will give me the best chance to being a singular IP ?

Very good Kap, I'd like to go a little further if you don't mind;

You've given me great links to go from and I've bookmarked them.

Thank You

Kappy, you're so kind and spot on informative I hope I'm not being too much of a pain...

Current devices:

I have iMac 27", iMac 21", MacBook Pro 15", iPhone 6, iPhone 7 & iPad Air.

My current Apple ID was created in 1998 on a PC to sync iTunes w/iPods.

2013 I purchased the iMac & future purchases of quite a few Apple devices.

IOS devices would use the iTunes account,

MacOS devices used a different Apple ID account,

My thought, is to restore all devices to factory and start new with the new Apple ID account I just created on the PC.

Is my assumption correct, will this thought work ?

Like most, an email address is needed for everything you do online: Banking, FB, YT, Purchase sites & so on.

Over the years, several emails were created for different sites to log on with, non-iCloud addresses.

I'll try and be specific...

I have an encrypted email address that I used to create a new Apple ID account on a PC, never associated with Apple.

On the Manage your Apple ID Page:

I don't see a way to create an "iCloud" email address:

Will I have to download iCloud for PC to access and create an iCloud email address ?

If Yes, could I disassociate the PC iCloud from Apple/iCloud memory & retail the iCloud email I created thru the PC ?

If all this works, that should essentially create an All Apple, proprietary foundation that I can establish new online accounts with. Removing all third party associations correct ?

Leaving me with Apple's Privacy Policy as a base foundation for all associated accounts using the iCloud email ?

At this point I require compensation - two beers should do. 😁

You certainly can do what you propose although it will be quite time-consuming. Note that any purchases done on the other Apple IDs will not transfer to the new ID. This means you will need to re-purchase paid items and re-download free items under the new Apple ID. You cannot transfer items from one ID to another, and IDs cannot be merged or deleted. To accommodate this requires asking Apple directly.

Open iCloud in System Preferences. Be sure it is activated on your Apple ID. Then select Internet Accounts. If you don't have an iCloud mail account shown, then click on the large iCloud button on the right to get started.

Open Mail. Select Preferences from the Mail menu, then click on the Accounts button in the toolbar. You should now see an iCloud account listed.

You will not have to use iCloud mail on your PC. You can establish other email accounts if preferred. However, if you do then your PC and Apple mail will be intermingled.

I don't really understand what you mean, here:

If all this works, that should essentially create an All Apple, proprietary foundation that I can establish new online accounts with. Removing all third-party associations correct?

Leaving me with Apple's Privacy Policy as a base foundation for all associated accounts using the iCloud email?

ICloud will sync all of your data amongst your various devices that use the same Apple ID. iCloud Email is just that - Email. It is iCloud that performs the cloud magic.
