My iPhone 7 audio device failed after an update. I can’t answer calls anymore or make any recordings with sound. Is this covered by apple?

iPhone 7 audio problems - no audio devices found I am unable to make or receive calls or use the voice recorder etc. When starting the voice recorder app I get the error: "Recording Failed No audio devices found." I have tried a hard reset and also a complete reset and restore from an iCloud backup. No change. When I make a call, the call goes through but I am unable to hear anything (no ringing, no answer etc. but the receiving phone rings). I get the same results using just the handset or with a headset plugged in. I am able to make a call when using Bluetooth. If I play music on the phone it plays through the internal speaker, but if I connect a headset the music is still played on the phone speaker. It seems to be a problem with the internal audio. I've read that this a a somewhat common problem for an iPhone 7. I'm running iOS 12.2 Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Anyone else have trouble with the sound on their iphone 7? Unable to make or recieve calls! Both my phone and my sister iPhone 7 now have this same issue. Is apple going to be offering a fix for this? We have only had the phone's one year. Anyone else with this problem? There seems to be no way to repair - apple store trying to tell me I just need to buy a new phone but I've only had this phone for one year, I'm still paying it off. Want to know if this is a common problem and thus really an 'apple' issue with how they designed the phone.

They can tell you what options you have.

Thanks ckuan. 214 mile round journey to closest apple store. Might have to order a crappy android until my contract is up for renewal next year! DOH!
