WhatsApp Auto Backup not working

Hi, I just upgraded iPhones to an Xs Max from an iPhone 7 Plus and WhatsApp auto backup is not working, in my old iPhone it worked fine. Within WhatsApp (Settings > Chat Backup) I selected the option “Daily” and it won’t back up automatically, I can only perform manual backups to iCloud. I already tried a hard reset of the phone and deleting and reinstalling WhatsApp with no success. Any help is solving this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I found the fix, you have to enable Background App Refresh for WhatsApp.

Unfortunately this sounds like a problem with the compatibility of the app with the iPhone or Operating system. It should not be a problem with your iPhone itself. I would contact WhatsApp to see what they would have to say, since it is their app that you are having trouble refreshing it through. If the issue was with the settings of the app in the iPhone setting, then Apple might be able to do something, but since it was an app setting, then I would contact WhatsApp.
