what is org.chromium.chromoting.me2me.sh

This was a new message that I noticed after the upgrade to 10.14.2. I tried the minus trick, tried the turning off of Chrome Remote Desktop in Extension, and removing the extension, eventually found an uninstaller for Chrome Remote Desktop in Applications. Ran that, presto, problem solved.

Using CCleaner will only remove the application from your startup files, leaving the offending application on your system.

Removing Chrome Remote Desktop from your browser extensions only uninstalls the Viewer.

If you look in your applications folder, you'll find an uninstaller for the Host. I believe it's called "Chrome Remote Desktop Host Uninstaller" or something close to it.

Double-click the uninstaller, complete the process, reboot your machine and your message should be gone forever along with the application.

Un-Installing chrome will not help. Malware or popup item will most possibly return because they usually are able to get synched with Google Sync.

Follow these steps...

1. Re-install Chrome, only through https://www.google.com/chrome/b/

2. Open Chrome Web Browser

3. Click on the three vertical dots at the top right hand corner

4. Click on Settings.

5. Click on the three bar at top Left Hand Corner

6. Click on Extensions Menu

7. Remove all unwanted extensions. I have thhree extension as shown in the Pic below. if you see "Chrome Remote Desk Top" remove it without second thought. Probably you may not need any of the extension as you are not using Chrome as web browser. You may remove all.

8. Once done Close the Chrome Browser.

9. Go to System Preference/Security & Privacy/Accessibility and remove the org.chromium.chromoting.me2me.sh (As suggested in my first answer)

You need not remove Chrome but again it's your call. Chrome extension is the cause of the popup and not Chrome itself.

This was the only thing that worked for me.

I followed the instructions from hfromhengelo

"Finally got it removed by running CCleaner: removed org.chromium.chromoting from Tools -> Startup"

1- I removed the extension from Chrome, and didn't work.

2- I went to Mac's security and privacy settings, I deleted "org.chromium.chromoting.me2me.sh", and didn't work either.

You're using Chrome Remote desktop, and it's a part of the tool letting you control remotely your mac !

I also got the same message every time my mac reboots.

I do not know what is this but I would not dare to allow the access.

The best way is to delete the org.chromium.chromoting.me2me.sh

You can adjust all of your Mac's security and privacy settings in a single preference pane. Open System Preferences — from the Dock or the Apple menu — and click on Security & Privacy. The General pane gives you access to basic settings. If you're not an administrator on your Mac, you won't be able to make changes that affect the entire computer; only those that apply to your user account. If you are an administrator — or the only person using your Mac — then you'll be able to access all the settings; click the padlock icon, then enter your password.

On the left plane click on Accessibility. You will find "org.chromium.chromoting.me2me.sh"

Delete the line using the following process.

1. Open the Lock

2. Select the line (Bug)

3. Click on the Minus Sign

I did the same thing to remove the bug. Everything is working fine.

Alternately always deny access to any such message which is unknown. It could be a spyware or malware.

1. Open Chrome. Look for three vertical dots at top right hand corner.
2. Click on Three Dots
3. Click on settings.
4. Go to Extensions.
5. Look for Chrome Remote Desktop App.
6. Click on Remove

Close the Chrome Browser.

Repeat the instruction given earlier for removal of "org.chromium.chromoting.me2me.sh" using security and privacy.

org.chromium.chromoting.me2me.sh Aka Google Chrome Remote is a Web-based app that can be run through the Chrome browser and enables users to connect to other computers over a network or the Web.

To uninstall Google Chrome Remote, launch Chrome and open the New Tab screen. Switch to the Apps view and locate the Chrome Remote Desktop icon. Right-click on the icon and choose "Remove from Chrome" from the menu that appears. Click "Uninstall" on the pop-up dialog to confirm your choice and the app is removed from the browser. It will also be removed on any other installations of Chrome you have associated with your Google Account if app syncing is activated -- this feature is controlled from the "Personal Stuff" tab on the Chrome Options page.

It worked for me because I knew the app / extension I recently activated, which was Chrome Remote Desktop App.

In your case please think hard and remove any App / Extension which is not required any more or installed by you for trial purpose.

There is not much of literature on this, in Google Search Engines.

I would not recommend you to allow access to your computer by some unknown programme.

Beware of recent attacks on iOS platform by weknow.ac. This came via Java Updater.

I had to re-format my entire disk to remove this dangerous spyware.

Hence the caution!

Doesn't work for me. Performed all instructions, but after a restart, the question is asked again and the me2me line is there again in the security & privacy preferences. Isn't this some kind of Chrome plugin that should be removed from Chrome?

Thanks for you quick reply, but still no go. Removed the extension from Chrome and did same actions again. Still same question after reboot. Anyway, since we now know it's a Chrome thingy, might as well accept it...😟
