Couldn’t find Live Photo’s icon, took a while to figure it out point camera keep thum on shutter button and hey presto then press edit and select

The iPhone 6 Plus does not support Live Photo, that is why you could not see the icon.
What you are describing is Burst mode, where holding the shutter will take a series of photos in succession. That is not Live Photo.
