All of the apps incomplete or damaged

Hi


All the apps on my desktop Mac are not working - calculator, downloads, quicktime,.


They all say they are incomplete or damaged.


does anybody know what's happened?

Boot into Recovery Mode and choose Reinstall Mac OS. This should be an install "in place" and shouldn't affect any of your own data but that said, it's always wise to have a good backup.

In El Capitan and later every App that is allowed to run must be listed in the GateKeeper "white list" database, or they must be approved one-by-one and added manually.


It sounds like your got clobbered.


Gatekeeper database is such an integral part of MacOS, I expect it is locked up tight, deep in the bowels of MacOS. I sincerely doubt you can tinker with it to fix it.


What is the date of your last Backup, and by what method?
