New MacBook Air 2018 - fan noise

Just got the new MacBook Air 2018 and I am quite disappointed how hot it quickly becomes doing almost nothing and how the fan run constantly ... Apple goes on with dramatic speeches about being the best in the galaxy an 0,0001 mm thinner and yet everything still behaves like in an old stone age ... loud fans etc. Are you not able to make a quiet laptop in 2018 for such a hefty price ??

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS Sierra (10.12.2), MacBook Pro 2016 15''

HI,

I had a similar problem, new MacBook air 2018. Fan was going crazy all the time.

Anyway i went to the utilities folder and then activity monitor. It turns out a piece of software

to do with Netatmo (weather app) was using all the cpu time 100%. Once I killed

off that process/task every thing was normal.

When you migrate to a new mac with a new OS there might be software on your mac that does not

work for some reason.

I would have thought that the OS itself would have detected the cpu hog and killed it off automatically

and then informed me via a notification of some sort. But no !

Regards

James
