error code 4MOT/1/40000003:Exhaust-5731 or 6029

Om my macmini 2012 the fan runs on full speed. Sometimes the fan speed temporarily drops. I can read the fan spead with Macsfancontroll.app but I can not change the fan speed. It started efter I disconnected/connected the fan when I changed the HDD.

The error code I got from Apple hardware test are 4MOT/1/40000003:Exhaust-5731 or 6029.

What does the code mean?

Error Code: 4M0T /4/40000003: HDD - 1240 I'm receiving this error code in the diagnostics test utility. After research, I see that 4M0 is fan issues, T is temperature, and HDD is obviously hard drive issues. My questions are: Is replacing the Fan and the HDD needed for this issue? Could I just replace the HDD to have a functioning iMac? If the former is needed, is DiY Fan replacements easy? How much are they? Thanks!
