CarPlay drains battery iOS 12.1 (iPhone 6)

Hi,

Since I've upgraded to iOS 12.1 my battery drains faster than before (I've seen this discussed before), but when using CarPlay I'm losing even battery instead of it being charged. Everything is working on CarPlay (music, Waze, and so on). The iPhone indicates that it's charging, but even when I don't do anything (no music even), I lose battery. Earlier today I was losing 2% every 5 min.

What I'm using:

- iPhone 6

- iOS 12.1

- Enabled: Mobile data, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi

What I tried:

- restarted

- checked for applications using the battery heavily, but found nothing

- searched online for a solution

What I will try:

- disable Bluetooth during my next drive

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the reply. I've checked the page and everything should be fine on that part.

I've tested two things during my last drives:

- Disable Bluetooth: doesn't have any effect

- Use another (third party) lightning cable, as the current one is showing some wear and tear: seems to resolve the issue!

Will get back with an update after further testing.
