Use Time Machine hard drive to back up another new IMac

Buying duplicate IMac of my present one which is in a different location.

Want to duplicate all info from one to the other.

Can I use the Time Machine/External hard drive on my present IMac to copy all info to my new IMac?

If so:

I intend to return that hard drive to my present IMac and put a different external HD on the new for Time Machine.

Advice appreciated.
