Getting Cogeco emails on Apple devices

i was having trouble getting emails suddenly on my iPhone and iPad for my Cogeco email. After over an hour on the phone with Cogeco it still wasn’t working and he said it was my devices. So I googled it and came to land here. The post from MeaganfromKingston did the trick in under five minutes my emails came up. The port number the tech gave me was different. They also had me entering my entire email as my user name and not just what came before the @ sign as Megan says and to leave some fields blank as well as they were optional anyway. So the phone is working. Time to try the iPad.

Thanks Megan

Thanks for that. I got it running on my cellphone no problem but the iPad wouldn’t accept the same setting. The chart under the first list you gave me didn’t work on the iPad but the second item had me delete the cogeco mail account and let the phone and the iPad reload on their own. Both work now. You’d think Cogeco customer service would know this. I know apple products do not like Cogeco. When I bought both devices it took a quite a while to get Cogeco email to work on them. It just kept rejecting it. The guy said just hit done when it kicks out and probably after an hour it finally took it. The only thing I don’t like about my Apple devices is they don’t play nice with other devices and programs. Thank you.
