MAC MINI 2018 Not reading my Glyph Blackbox 10TB external hard drive

I just bought a 2018 mac mini. We upgraded it to the max allowable. Unfortunately, it will not read my Glyph Blackbox 10TB HD.

I trouble shooted with customer service for over 6 hrs and had no success. I actually took my hard drive to the mac store and plugged it into the 2018 mac mini they had on their sales floor. Same problem. The HD will not mount. I plugged my HD into a imac pro at the same apple store and my HD mounted almost immediately. I have no problems opening the HD with my 2015 macbook and it opens every time on our windows based computers as well.

Anybody else have a similar problem? Any solutions?

I've returned the mac mini as it's useless to me and my business if I can't access the contents of my HD.

I was really excited about the mac mini but now I'm thinking I should just abandon the mini for something else.

The issue is with the APFS system. I had a similar issue. I fixed by using disk utilities and reformatting the external drive (it shows up in utilities). Then it was OK. Not sure why this is but with the APFS system certain external drives and other(UBS sticks, etc.) do not always work unless reformatted.

As you no longer have the Mac Mini, we cannot suggest any troubleshooting steps. External drives not automatically mounting, or appearing to mount, are a fairly common issue for which there are many and varied solutions.

Thanks for the reply. We have 10Tb of info on our drive so it's a both expensive and time consuming to transfer everything to another drive, reformat the HD and then transfer everything back. I had no issues opening the HD on my MacBook and on the iMac Pro at the Apple Store. Think I'll just pass on the new Mac Mini.
