New iphone 7 plus has a scratches under the mute button

I've bought a new Iphone 7 plus in Kiev Ukraine 23.11. During unboxing, i found out that there are several scratches under the Mute button. The device is completely new, and everything else looks pretty good, except those scratches.

My IMEI is 355354088598315

As per deggie’s reply, if you are not completely happy and are still within the 14 days then return it, either by post or by going to your nearest Apple Store. If you take it in you do have the opertunity to discuss why you are not happy (Apple then get feedback) and you may also be given a replacement straight away (ie no waiting for another order to come through the post).

You could also point out that if the marks are from substandard machining (ie poor tooling) the possibility for a future problem exists in the form of the component binding up (ie from rough metal on metal friction) which you would obviously wish to avoid.

Not sure what else to advise, but wish you luck.

Not sure what you’re trying to ask but if it’s to do with whether the device is new this may help.

I would consider that the type of material and finish can play a big part in how scratches show up, black or dark colours not being the best and anodising being inferior to say stainless (just my view mind you).

You could go to the Apple store and compare your device to another or take advantage of the 14 day returns policy (not sure if that varies between countries so would pay to check first).
