iPhone Xr won't load certain apps

I have had my iPhone Xr for a couple days and have had no problem but in the past two days it has really caused me problems. Two apps that have been very finicky have been Instagram and Spotify. Most of the time now when I go to open it now, Instagram has just a white screen and the logo at the top and spotify will just show a black screen and their logo. I have tried all the solutions for apps that won't load.

1. Force quitting app

2. Soft reset

3. Hard reset

4. Deleting and reinstalling app

None of these have worked so any help would be greatly appreciated. I am running iOS 12.1.

Hi Bojopolis,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I understand you're experiencing issues with two third-party apps on your iPhone.

You've done some great troubleshooting steps so far. I notice in your screenshot that you're using cellular data. If you connect to Wi-Fi, do these apps load as expected? If they do, I recommend checking your cellular data settings. Check the cellular data usage on your iPhone and iPad :

View how much data you're using

To see how much cellular data that you've used, go to Settings > Cellular or Settings > Mobile Data. If you're using an iPad, you might see Settings > Cellular Data instead.

Scroll down to find which apps are using cellular data. If you don't want an app to use cellular data, you can turn it off for that app. When cellular data is off, apps will only use Wi-Fi for data.

Using the steps above, you'll be able to see if these apps have cellular data switched on already, or if you'll need to switch it on.

If the issues persist on both network connection types and you've verified the settings above, you may want to reach out to the app developers next. Here's How to contact an app developer .

I hope this is helpful.

Have a great day.
