Blurry Custom Folder Icon

I have made many Custom folder Icons by opening the image in preview and copying and pasting into the folder Icon space when you get Info on the Folder. Now under Mojave I am getting a Blurry Icon? Not sure what is happening!!!

here is the image:

If you require a higher resolution the procedure is more complicated.

Go to folder /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources.

Copy the file Multipleitemsicon.icns to your desktop.

Open e.g Powerpoint app and insert the icns file.

Expand the resolution to 1024 x 768

Then put the image you want on top of the icon (can be another inserted image or a new drawing).

Now put the transparancy of the icns image to 100% and group it with your image.

Now save the group as a PNG file.

Open the PNG file in preview app.

Select the image and copy to the clipboard.

Paste from the "get info" of your file.

Now you have a high resolution image to replace the file icon.
