Keyboard isn't recognized by Mac OS High Sierra.

How do I get my cable keyboard to work after High Sierra upgrade?

I am very unhappy with the High Sierra upgrade.

Mac is getting more like Windows OS.

No problem JB, were both close to the same age.

If you have a PC/Windoes keyboard...

Have you done a PRAM reset, Windows key+alt key+p+r...

In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.

How to reset the SMC on Mac desktop computers...

Follow these steps for iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro, and Xserve.

Choose Apple menu > Shut Down.

After your Mac shuts down, unplug the power cord.

Wait 45 seconds.

Plug the power cord back in.

Wait 15 seconds, then press the power button again to turn on your Mac.

One additional question: When you type Windows key+alt+p+r ...

Is Windows key short for Windows keyboard or is there a windows key that I hold down in addition to the alt key.

Usually I would interpret the +p+r... to mean a continuation for spelling out PRAM.

Otherwise I would expect the instruction to read: On windows keyboard hold down the alt key and simultaneously hold down the p and r keys. Also, for how long?

Sorry to require such specific instructions.

Apple Keyboard has failed to connect after a reboot.

I shut down the computer when I am finished working with it during the day and at always at night.

The Apple keyboard continued to work through several shutdowns and reboots until yesterday afternoon when it failed to connect to the Apple keyboard.

I have gone through the original ritual; Windows Key + p +r while holding the 4 keys down through 3 recycles without success.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Jim
