iPhone 8 Plus issues with iTunes

I have been unable for several months to use iTunes with my new iPhone 8 Plus. I have updated iTunes, updated the OS on iPhone 8 to 12.1 and searched and tried what fixes are available. I have no issues on 2 of my Windows 10 PC's running the same configuration to my iPad. I cannot remove iBook files, add music, movies or TV shows on iPhone yet have no issues on iPad.

Considering going back to an Android phone as I never had an issue.

Any help?

Hello mrgrock,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities and asking about using iTunes with your iPhone 8. This article has information to assist you with this: Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB - Apple Support

If you do not see the option to sync using iTunes, it's possible this feature is disabled because you are using iCloud music Library. The above article states:

If you use iCloud or other services like Apple Music to keep your content up to date across all of your devices, syncing through iTunes might be disabled.

Also, you mention that this never occurred with your Windows computers. If the iTunes Library on your current computer is not the same as the one from the PC that synced the items, you may see an alert that says the device needs to be erased. This is because a device can only be synced with one library at a time. Erase the device, and resend the songs you wish to have on your device. From the same article above:

If you see a message that your iOS device is synced with another iTunes library after clicking the box, your iOS device was previously connected to another computer. If you click "Erase and Sync" in that message, all content of the selected type on your iOS device is replaced with content from your computer. Content that you didn't turn on syncing for isn't deleted from your iOS device. You can only sync your iOS device with one iTunes library at a time.

If none of that helped, please check this help article: If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support

Thanks and have a wonderful day.

The issue is not resolved. I have no issues with my iPad but cannot get iPhone to add or remove files in iTunes. I have turned off iCloud on iPhone and cannot work within iTunes at all. Files cannot be deleted nor can any files be added. I wanted to travel with only iPhone and not have to use two devices. It was my understanding that I could use iTunes to move my books, music and videos from my iPad to iPhone. this is becoming an issue that I do not like. My Android phone had no issue with moving files but I needed two devices to travel with.
