Trying to figure out what cable I need to connect my old 2011 Macbook Pro with my new 2018 Macbook Pro via Target Disk Mode. Any thoughts? Where to buy?

To connect a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port to a Thunderbolt 2 port, use the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter combined with a Thunderbolt 2 cable.

Your Mac should have a Thunderbolt 1 port. Thunderbolt 2 is backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 1
