Google search jumps to Bing automatically on Safari

Every time I enter something in the search bar, it jumps from Google to Bing automatically. Google is my default searching engine, and I never had this problem before.

I already followed the instructions on https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7184149. The "something" I had was called "Pikatika" and I deleted everything on my mac contained it and restarted my mac a few times. That didn't work...

I also had this problem on my Chrome today. I deleted Chrome and re-installed it, and the problem was gone. However, can I delete and reinstall Safari?

Could somebody help me please? Thanks a lot!!

I just had this problem. Several people responded by telling me to install Malwarebytes. It's a free download, but to continue it's automatic protection you have to sign up for a premium version. A free 14-day trial of the premium is included with the free download.

I used it and the program found some infected files, which I removed. This virus seems really pernicious since I no more than started to use Chrome and the bing search took over. Check everything in the Chrome and Safari preferences for references to Bing and Search it now and then remove

Both Safari and Chrome are working properly now
