Fluorescent tube under screen. How on earth do you switch this on?

I may be going mad, but there is a fluorescent light between the bottom of the screen and top of the keyboard on my iMac book Pro. I've seen this on in the Apple stores and know it glows, so why can't I find how to switch this on???

What's an iMac Book Pro? Never heard of such a machine.

Are you talking a machine that looks like this?

That's known as an iMac Intel Core Duo or iMac Intel Core 2 Duo if it was recently bought new.

Or a machine that looks like this?

That's a MacBook Pro.

Yep, I mean a MacBook Pro. Made up a brand new model there it would seem!

I assume that you are talking about the keyboard back lighting. Take your MBP into a darkened room and the keyboard back light will come on.

You can also press F8/F9/F10 to control the keyboard lights.

(Or press "Fn" + F8/F9/F10, depending on your setup.)

I think you are referring to the cover for the WiFi antenna !! The slightly rubberised cover below the MacBook Pro logo ?? Thats not a flurescent tube !!!

Apple Computers Class 101 !!!

The keyboard lights are most noticeable under ambient lightning that is darker. They will make the keys show backlighting depending on how dark the room is.
