FaceTime suddenly appeared on my MacBook Pro. I didn't ask for it, don't want it and never use it. How do I make it go away? I'm sick of looking at my face on my desk top. If I can't uninstall it I would like to know how to turn the camera off. Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6. I hope someone out there can help. Many thanks

It shouldn't open on Login. If it does that there are 2 places to check:
1. Go to System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items and use the ➖ button to remove FaceTime.
2. Check in Apple menu > Shutdown, Restart, Logout, and uncheck the box "Reopen windows when logging back in"
You can force quit it by holding: command, option and escape. Select FaceTime to quit out of it if it won't let you quit it normally.
FaceTime is a default Mac OS app, you cannot uninstall it. If you quit FaceTime, it should stop bothering you?

Thank you for your very quick response. How frustrating that you can't uninstall FaceTime. I can quit it but what I would like to know is, can I stop it from opening in the first place, when I log in?

1. I couldn't do this as there wasn't a delete button for me to click on.
2. Worked a treat! I no longer have to look at my ugly mug every time I log in. Yay!!!
