Always Show Controller-Quicktime

I want Quicktime to always show the controller (Play/pause/rewind/fast-forward/time/etc) even when I switch to another open window. I am inputting data into excel from Quicktime videos, but it helps to see the time/progress the video is currently at.

I tried inputting this command that I found online into the terminal:

defaults write com.apple.QuickTimePlayerX MGUIVisibilityNeverAutohide 1

But that failed to work.

I'm running Mojave, version 10.14.1 (18B75) with Quicktime Version 10.5 (928.50).
