Normally you press on an app, a cross appears that allows to delete the app. However mine doesnt work. I already checked restrictions in the settings and tried erasing all the content and settings. Any other solutions? (except for deleting apps via ipad storage).

You may have pressed it too hard. Try touching the icon (and holding it) lightly for 2 to 3 seconds.
